When it was all said and done, they probably could have charged more but they didn't. It's an old school approach that's often promoted but seldom practiced. Nothing was touched unless it related to the issue at hand and I'd been spoken to about 'why' & 'how much'. Throughout the time spent at Blackforest, the only parts that were replaced were parts in obvious need of replacement. 3 months later the thing starts, idles, and runs like a clock every day - and I couldn't be happier. Phrases like "it's a completely different car now" pretty much summed it up. By the 1990's Black Forest Racing had accumulated record race victories, and amassed more than 20 championship victories in SCCA, HSR, SVRA, CARE, and ARL. In 1980 John moved his business to south Florida where he quickly established himself as the premiere independent service facility for the finest that Stuttgart had to offer. In 1975 he left the dealer to start his own shop. It wasn't long after that when he was introduced to driving in that same car. ![]() By 1974 John had landed a role as crew chief of an IROC Porsche 911.
